Localization of Chilean Citizens

Request of localization of Chilean citizens overseas or in Chile

What does it consist of?

The Consulates, in conjunction with the Department of Social Action of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shall take steps for the location of citizens abroad whatever the reason and upon request of relatives or judicial or administrative national authorities. Also, the Consulates accept requests from families abroad to locate relatives in Chile.

Where can it be requested?

• Consulates of Chile overseas.
• Social Action Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Who is it addressed to?

Chilean citizens requiring the localization of a Chilean relative overseas or relatives who wish to locate family relations in the national territory.

Requirements

• The petitioner must be next of kin.
• Produce Birth Certificate of the person to be located.

Service

Carry out the necessary procedures to locate Chilean nationals abroad.

Fees

The cost of this service varies depending on the proceedings and documents required to repatriate the remains.
