Photo Exhibition "The Mapuche with Good Eyes", by Chilean artist Lincoyán Parada

On Tuesday, May 21st, at the "Cultural Center of Capital Library", was held the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition entitled "The Mapuche with Good Eyes", which portrays the daily life of the Mapuche communities of the southern region of Chile and it is authored by Chilean artist Lincoyán Parada. The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Chile in China, with the valuable collaboration of the Ministry of Culture of China and "China Arts & Entertainment Group".

The Mapuche people are the largest ethnic group of Chile and inhabit the central-south region of the country. They have a common social, religious and economic structure, as well as a unique linguistic heritage.

Through this exhibition, the Embassy of Chile seeks to create new opportunities for cooperation and cultural exchange to promote greater awareness and rescue of the traditions of ethnic minorities.

The photographs, in addition to the story of the way of life of indigenous communities, have in themselves a great artistic quality in areas such as the use of light and depth of human portraits.

The exhibition will run for 10 days. We invite all Chinese people to visit this photographic exhibition, which will allow them to take a tour of the lifestyles and traditions of this indigenous people of Chile.
