By signing a Phytosanitary Agreement, Chile and India culminate a negotiation process that extended for several years and that allows the entrance of Chilean blueberries and avocados into the Indian market.

The signing of the aforementioned agreement, by the Undersecretary of Agriculture of Chile, Mr. Claudio Ternicier, and the Chief of Plant Sanitation of India, Mr. Ashwani Kumar, ratified the conditions for these products, which will be exempt from the need to be subjected to fumigation, therefore establishing as a requirement the inspection for the case of blueberries and a Systems Approach for the avocados.

This achievement has been obtained through the joint public-private effort, highlighting the work from the Ministry of Agriculture, Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile (ASOEX) and the Agricultural Office of the Embassy of Chile in India.

With great satisfaction they announce the pronounced availability of India of two species of exceptional quality, environments with beneficial effects for health, besides being a tasty alternative for the table of Indian consumers, increasingly demanding in quality, health and nutrition.
