As part of the Fifth Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Conference that is taking place in Rome, Foreign Minister Moreno Alfredo Moreno met with his Italian counterpart Franco Frattini.
During the meeting, Minister Moreno handed over to minster Frattini a letter signed by President Piñera, confirming Chiles participation at the Milan Universal Exposition 2015. The show will follow Expo Shanghai 2010, where the Chilean stand became one of the most popular.
Minister Moreno also extended an invitation to the President of the Council of Ministers to attend the LAC- EU Summit of Heads of State and Government, to be held in Santiago on 7 and 8 June next year.
In the same vein, both foreign ministers agreed on the importance of declaring 2013 as the Chile-Italy Cultural Year, a period during which various artistic and cultural initiatives will be carried out between the two countries.
Later, Minister Moreno met with Roberto Formigoni, President of the Lombard Region, with whom he discussed, among other issues, the participation of Chile at Expo Milan 2015.
