Undersecretary of Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs Visits the OPCW
H.E. Ambassador Fernando Schmidt, Undersecretary of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited the OPCW Technical Secretariat on 23 November 2011. During his visit Ambassador Schmidt met with Director-General Ahmet Üzümcü and was briefed on the OPCW’s work and current issues facing the Organisation.
The Director-General commended Chile’s firm commitment to implementation of the Convention and its support for the work of the OPCW. Undersecretary Schmidt expressed his appreciation for the OPCW’s readiness to help enhance Chile’s assistance and protection capabilities against chemical weapons, and assured him of Chile’s continued commitment and support to OPCW’s activities.
